Grand Final Wrap Up
What a sensational result from our C grade side to once again take
out the Div 9 South Premiership. It was a gutsy performance
on a stinkin' hot day in which The Phantoms fitness and toughness
shone through.
With the weeks rest, Seaton started well kicking with the breeze
and leading by 3 goals early. The PHOSC midfield started to gain
control in the 2nd quarter with Tim Hammond and 'Boggy'
Martin giving plenty of drive and attack at the footy. The boys
went in at half time trailing by 3 points.
The Premiership Quarter was exactly that, as the tempo of the game
lifted notch. It was a tough struggle with the Phantoms scoring
the only goal of the quarter. Hully started to dominate the
ruck, Hammond, Jenkins and Ratti Royals were sensational
in the fifty/fifty contests, Gilby, Whitford and Roman
Catic were impassable down back and Seaton started to lose the
plot.
The final quarter saw the Phantoms take full control with Dingy
and Chopper Rigior cutting up their opponents to bust the
game wide open. Seaton disgraced themselves by taking their eyes
of the ball and going for the man in some sort of pathetic attempt
to rattle the Phantoms, born out of frustration for being so crap.
Experienced players like Jacomas, Baker, Gage, Sherif Catic
and Goose started to do whatever they wanted and the Phantoms
ran away with a 45 point victory.
A top effort. Well done Bruce Clements for another successful
season as C grade coach.
